Keeping Cool this Summer

As summer sizzles in Albury Wodonga, finding ways to stay cool is a must. Luckily our region is packed with options to keep you refreshed, entertained and relaxed.

From natural waterways to family friendly swimming, grab your sunscreen and swimmers because we have you covered on how to enjoy summer while staying cool.

Water Works Albury

Just a 5 minute drive from Albury’s CBD, on the Riverina Hwy, turn right on Waterworks Road, follow along and you’ll find a charming old wooden bridge crossing the Murray at Water Works bend.

Roll out your towel and relax under one of the shady river gums or try your luck hooking one of the local freshwater specialties, Murray Cod, Rainbow Trout, Redfin and Golden Perch.

Fishing the Murray

Kremur Street

Take a drive down to the end of Kremur Street Albury, and apart from the fabulous Yindyamarra Sculpture Trail, you’ll find a swim spot on the Murray, tucked away, just a short distance downstream from the boat ramp.

Take care here, access is suited only for the able bodied and the current can be fast.

This little gem is for competent swimmers only.

Take a dip in Lake Hume

Lake Hume is the perfect place for a refreshing swim.

Pack a picnic, umbrella, and your favourite inflatable, along with our guide for the perfect picnic spots for hours of fun.

Epic sunsets and breathtaking views.

Dip your dog

Don’t forget your fur babies this summer!

There are loads of access spots to Lake Hume where your best friend can chase a stick into the water all day long.

Try Kookaburra Point at Ebden where there’s lots of shady car parks and a handy little general store.
