Write Around the Murray

Albury Wodonga’s writers’ festival, Write Around the Murray, returns in 2024 with an engaging program of award-winning, best-selling authors, illustrators and storytellers.

This year Write Around the Murray is thrilled to welcome the legendary Kate Grenville to talk about the Book of the Festival, Restless Dolly Maunder (shortlisted for the Women’s Prize for Fiction).

Write Around the Murray runs for five days, across two states with over 65 programs of high quality, literary content.

See a performance with Ellen van Neerven and their play swim and Jane Clifton and her one woman show, A Day At A Time in Rhyme. Siang Lu talks cinema after a screening of Bruce Lee’s iconic film Enter the Dragon. Look out for the Kids program, including a celebration of 50 years of the works of Hazel Edwards, author of There’s A Hippopotamus on Our Roof Eating Cake plus Danny Katz and Mitch Vane with their new Little Lunch books and former Australian Children’s Laureate Leigh Hobbs. Plus Stereo Stories, the Poetry Slam, masterclasses, workshops, history and arts tours, and more.

All Kids programs are free and tickets for other events are as low as $5.

Plus look out for special accommodation discounts at Quest serviced apartments for out-of-town visitors.
